Kayla Marie (Knudson) Curtis, 35, Jamestown, ND passed away unexpectedly Friday April 12, 2019 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.

Kayla was born April 25, 1983 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Marcia (Leiseth) Hansen and Thomas Knudson. She grew up and went to school in Mandan, ND.

In 2003 she moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she worked at City Bank. She moved to Belle Fourche, SD in 2009 where she was a stay at home mom, until moving to Brookings, SD where she worked for Daktronics. She and Tim Curtis were married September 4, 2010 in Belle Fourche. In 2014 she and her family settled in Jamestown where she worked as a loan officer at First Community Credit Union.

Kayla was involved with Jamestown Gymnastics, was the chairperson of the Real World Camp of Jamestown, delivered meals on wheels, and also did volunteer work for various FCCU events.

Her love of baking and hosting were unmatched.

Kayla’s love for her family and friends never waivered. She loved traveling to make memories in new and old destinations.

Kayla was a great friend to everyone and was the person you looked to when you needed uplifting. When Kayla found a passion, she threw her whole self into it. Only half doing something was definitely not who she was. Kayla will be missed dearly by all.

She is survived by her husband, Tim; 3 children, Kamden, Ayleigh, and Alyvia, of Jamestown, ND; her mother, Marcia Hansen, Mandan, ND; her father, Thomas Knudson, Bismarck, ND; 1 brother, Jason (Wendy) Knudson, 2 sisters, Kristin (Shawn) Oban, Kim Hemphill; all of Bismarck, ND; along with 7 nieces and 5 nephews.

Kayla was preceded in death by her step-father Howard Hansen, 1 nephew, Shawn Oban Jr. and 1 niece, Harper Waklee.

Visitation – 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday April 18 at the funeral home

Funeral Service – 11:00 AM Friday April 19, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Jeff Wiedenmeyer, officiating
