Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Public School Board has partnered with the Jamestown  Arts Center, a  $22,500 agreement, for the 2019-2020 school year.

At Monday’s meeting, School Board member Diane Hanson was not present.

The agreement includes providing  artists in residence during the school year for the elementary schools.

The agreement also includes in-service training for teachers, support for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) curriculum and school performances by touring theater groups.

In other business Superintendent Robert Lech reported that Governor Doug Burgum has added the two-hour late start on April 12 this year, after a snowstorm to the initial make-up day forgiveness application recently approved.

Jamestown  (CSi)  Also before Monday’s  School Board Meeting, The Jamestown Education Association and the school board held a negotiation meeting.

Agreed to, were ground rules and clarification that any committee member may negotiate in the absence of the lead negotiator.

The negotiations will be for a two-year agreement.
