The Oahe (oh-AW’-hee) Wildlife Management Area is prone to wildfires when it’s dry and before the spring green-up. Early spring burning bans aren’t unusual.
The state Game and Fish Department says the ban includes campfires. The use of portable propane grills is allowed, but people are asked to use extreme caution.
The wildlife management area covers 25 square miles in portions of Morton, Burleigh and Emmons counties. It’s a popular area for anglers, campers and other outdoors enthusiasts.
