LISBON, N.D. (AP) — An investigation into a February shooting death in North Dakota is continuing despite the weekend death of a person of interest in a Missouri police shootout. Thirty-four-year-old William Galusha was found dead at a rural Milnor home Feb. 27, and authorities deemed the death suspicious. Ransom County Sheriff Darren Benneweis (BEHN’-uh-wys) says that an autopsy report he received Monday classified the death as a homicide.

Barry Wedge

Benneweis says the primary person of interest in the case was 42-year-old Barry Wedge, Galusha’s roommate.

KYTV-TV reports that Wedge killed himself early Saturday after a chase and shootout with Missouri officers who tried to stop him for suspected impaired driving.

Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase said Wedge had recently been interviewed by the Missouri Highway Patrol about the North Dakota homicide investigation.
