Daniel Joe Lusby Sr 74 of Jamestown, ND was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Sun May 19, 2019 in his home.  Daniel Joe Lusby Sr. was born on January 15, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Dewitt and Helen (Rhea) Lusby. Daniel accepted Christ as his savior at a tent revival as a young boy. He attended schools in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. Daniel enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962 during the Vietnam War and served with Special Forces in the Assault Craft Division. He was honorably discharged in 1966. He married Bernice Diane Stoppleworth on October 2, 1967. Together they had five children. He attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND and graduated in 1974 with an automotive diploma and a certificate in SSA. Daniel worked for Steiger Tractor, Burlington Northern Railroad as a laborer, and then was a laborer for Labors Local 580. He enjoyed fishing, crafts and woodworking, singing and playing guitar, gardening, playing cards, board games and was gifted at beadwork. He loved spending time with his family, visiting shut-ins, and sharing his knowledge and love for the Lord with all he came into contact with.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Bernice; son, Daniel Lusby Jr, Mandan, ND; three daughters, Naomi (Paul) Walz-Folmer, Montpelier, ND, Sarah (Shawn) Ratts, Montpelier, ND, Beth Lusby, Mandan, ND; daughter-in-law Jennifer Lusby, Mandan, ND; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Parrish Lusby Sr; his parents, Dewitt and Helen Lusby; two brothers, Alvin Lusby and Louis Lusby; sisters and spouses, Judy (Bud) Rimmer and Caroline (Jim) Webb.

He strived to live his life for the Lord, raising his children to be Christians – loving, nurturing and guiding them until the very end. Daniel was very loved and admired by his family and others. He will be deeply missed.
