Atlanta — Apr 22, 2013  —   The Jamestown High School LifeSmarts team representing North Dakota at the LifeSmarts Challenge National Final in Atlanta are heading home.

The team was eliminated Monday in the quarterfinals against Rhode Island.

The Jamestown High School team started quarterfinals at number two, with 987 points.

Florida was number one, with 1,099 points.

Rhode Island was ranked seventh with 878 points.

The semifinals and championship will be held Tuesday morning.

Representing Jamestown, as the North Dakota Champions for the second year in a row, were seniors Declan O’Higgins, Kyle Gee and Mariah Schlenker, junior Zach Fossen and sophomore Kelsey Becker.

The team is coached by Jamestown High School, Social Studies Teacher, Marchel Krieger.

Atlanta, (KCSi-T.V. News) — Jamestown High School is currently in second place in the LifeSmarts finals competition in Atlanta.

The North Dakota State Championshave 737 points after two days of competition.

Florida is currently in first place with 784 points.

The top eight teams compete today in the quarterfinals starting at noon today.

The North Dakota takes on Tennessee, today.

If North Dakota wins, it will face the winner of the Rhode Island-Arizona quarterfinal Tuesday.

The semifinal winners will compete for the national championship starting around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The Jamestown High School Lifesmarts Team is made up of seniors Mariah Schlenker, Kyle Gee and Declan O’Higgins, junior Zach Fossen and sophomore Kelsey Becker. Their coach is Marchel Krieger, a social studies teacher at JHS.
