Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,100 grant to the Anne Carlsen Center, for the purchase of one new cart laptop computer, critical in medical nurse management of the children who are residents at the center.
The Jamestown campus is the only facility left in the state of North Dakota equipped with the ability and expertise to provide a habilitative environment that incorporates residential, education and therapies for individuals with the most complex medical and behavioral needs.
These cart laptop computers must be equipped with the latest systems to allow nurses and doctors to access information such as medical records, physician orders, electronic medication administration records, assessments and contact information. It is critical that they remain updated to provide quick access to new systems necessary for the necessary treatment of the children.
Within the residential areas of the Center, there are 35 cart laptop computers in use, and keeping them updated is a continuing challenge. These computers are utilized across all five residential homes.
