Bertha Roemmich, 98, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Tappen, ND, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Bertha was born January 21, 1921, at Tappen, the daughter of Simon and Katarina (Mittleider) Pfaff.  She attended country school in the Tappen area and grew up on the family farm.  She learned a strong work ethic at a young age, which she carried throughout her life.  Bertha married Emil R. Roemmich on October 8, 1940 in Steele, ND.  They live on farms in the Tappen area and Bertha cooked for the Tappen Public School.  They moved into Tappen and later to Jamestown where she worked for Hi-Acres Manor and the Gladstone. She enjoyed baking and reading.Bertha was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church and St. John’s Evangelical Women in Tappen, and later St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Bertha is survived by three sons, Thilmer (Susan) Roemmich, Jamestown, Darold (Lenora) Roemmich, Jamestown, and Marvin (Karen) Roemmich, Eldridge, ND; daughter, Violet Moreland, Jamestown, and Viona (David) Gienger, Jamestown; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marcy Pfaff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jake, John, Simon Jr., David, Bart, and Elmer; sisters, Mary and Esther; and great-grandson, J.D.
