Jamestown  (CSi)  Jamestown Police arrested a  man  early Weds after he eluded police and fled in a vehicle.

Howard Larson, Jr. was arrested on outstanding warrants. after he failed to halt and attempted to flee in a vehicle.

Larson  was seen in the  McElroy Park area, Tuesday evening.

Police Lt. Sid Mann says, the incident started when Stutsman County Sergeant Damian Hoyt located Larson,  and attempted to stop him. Mann reports that Larson fled from Hoyt on foot into the wooded area south of the river.

Authorities established  perimeter  adding personnel to the search the wooded area.

The Jamestown City Fire Department’s K-9 bloodhound joined the search, with her handler, Fire Chief Jim Reuther.

A  Jamestown Police Detective located Larson in a vehicle in Southeast

When a Stutsman County Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, when Larson fled heading  toward Ypsilanti.

His  car was disabled by spike strips and Larson was taken into custody.

He was taken to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Formal charges are pending.

The Jamestown Police Department, Jamestown Fire Department, and Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department were assisted by ND Game and Fish in the search.
