BLOOM, N.D. (KFYR) A 73-year-old Jamestown man faces terrorizing charges after authorities say he fired shots at a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train on Friday.

Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser says the BNSF crew called in a report of shots fired at a moving train near Bloom, just east of Jamestown.

It happened at around 9:00 p.m.

Deputies confronted the suspect, who said he was firing shots into the air, not at the train.

A photo sent from the BNSF crew to deputies showed a bullet hole in the side of the train. When deputies went back to the suspect’s house, there was no answer.

Deputies got a search warrant and arrested the man without incident.

The train crew was not injured.

The suspect is being held at the Stutsman County Jail awaiting formal charges.

The Stutsman County inmate roster lists the individual as 73 year old Art Krein.
