New York  (AP)  Veteran outfielder Matt Kemp was released by Triple-A Syracuse last weekend. The 34-year-old Kemp, a three-time All-Star, was 8 for 34 (.235) with a home run for Syracuse after agreeing to a minor league contract with the Mets in late May. He was released May 4 by Cincinnati after being sidelined since April 23 with a broken left rib.
