Arlon was born May 13, 1934, on a farm north of Lehr, ND, the son of Jacob and Mary (Janke) Denning. He attended country school and worked on the farm with his parents.  Arlon entered the US Army on March 28, 1955 at Fargo, ND.  He was honorably discharged on March 28, 1957 at Ft. Polk, LA and returned to North Dakota.  Arlon married Darlene Wetzel on April 23, 1957 at Grace Lutheran Church in Lehr.  They lived on a farm near Jamestown from 1957 to 1959 and had two children.  He worked for area farmers and then moved to Edgeley with his family in 1974 where Arlon worked for Steele Construction, and later for Manor St. Joseph for over 35 years.  Darlene died on March 8, 2013.

Arlon is survived by his daughter, Dorinda McClellan, Edgeley; son, Kenneth Denning, Jamestown; two grandchildren, Brandi and Nicole; two step grandchildren, Jordyn and Riley Bilger; one great grandchild, Ashley Denton; and brother, Wilbert (Nedina) Denning, Gackle, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; twin brother, Leon (Arlys) Denning; brothers, Clarence, Lloyd, and Elmer; and sister, Hilma (Ray) Kauk.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND with Rev. Alan Eppen officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Edgeley.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
