Rose Ben, 80, Jamestown, ND died Sunday evening September 8, 2019 in Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

Rose Ben was born December 8, 1938 near Alfred, ND the daughter of Peter and Martha (Koenig) Ben. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

In 1978, she and her dad moved into Gackle where Rose worked at the Gackle Locker Plant. She later went to work for Miller Honey. She went to California in March and April to raise queen bees. Rose worked there for 30 years. Upon retiring, she cooked at the Gackle Care Center for 10 years.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Gackle Senior Citizens and a member of the Alfred American Legion Auxiliary. Rose was an avid pinochle player showing great concern that no one cheated. She had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and we will all miss her no nonsense approach to life.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Mavis) Ben, Alfred, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Clarence, Marvin, Johnny and Harry.
