Arnold Tabbert passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Eventide in Jamestown North Dakota where he was a resident.

Arnold Edmund Tabbert was born on July 7, 1926 on a farm near Sanborn North Dakota, the son of Edmund H and Christina A Tabbert. Along with his siblings, he grew up on the family farm near Eckelson North Dakota. On May 15, 1948 Arnold married Clara Stoppleworth of Spiritwood North Dakota. After marriage they made their home and raised their family on their farm near Marion North Dakota. Arnold and Clara enjoyed 70 years of married life together.

Arnold enjoyed farming and raising sheep most of his life. He had a special interest in old John Deere tractors and his old Ford pickups. If you let him, he would tell you a story about either or both.

June 30, 1940 was an important day in Arnold’s life. It was on this day he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Throughout the rest of his life, he actively shared Bible truths with others. He served as an elder with the Jamestown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses up to the time of his death. Previously, he also served in this capacity with the Valley City and Marion North Dakota congregations. As much as he loved the farm, Arnold’s faith and family were more important to him. He proved that by his example. He found special happiness in his grandchildren. Knowing his grandchildren were all Jehovah’s Witnesses was a source of great joy to Arnold. As we recall his example, his family thinks of Proverbs 20:7, which states “The righteous one is walking in his integrity. Happy are his children who come after him.”

Arnold is survived by his daughter, Connie Tabbert, Bismarck, ND; three sons, Cameron (Donna), Marion, ND; Ed (Lark), Hot Springs, SD; and Timothy (Michelle), Bismarck, ND; two grandsons, Kaiel (Brooke), Jamestown, ND; and Lucas (Lexy), Mobridge, SD; two granddaughters, Gabrielle Tabbert and Ganessa Tabbert, both of Marion, ND.

Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Clara, his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Arnold rests in the memory of his creator, awaiting the Bible’s promise of a resurrection to a paradise earth.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jamestown, ND.

Arrangements are in the care of Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
