YANKTON, S.D.–  (uj.edu)  – The University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team showed no signs of triskaidekaphobia as they faced Mount Marty College in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.

At the end of the match, it was the 13th-ranked Jimmies defeating the Lancers 3-1 on Friday the 13th to improve to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the GPAC. Set scores were 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19.

Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) hit a team-high .538 for the match, with 14 kills in 26 attempts. Jordan Thomas (SR/Pingree, N.D.) also registered double figures in kills, finishing with 13 to go along with a .333 hitting percentage.

Miranda Lowman (SR/Mandan, N.D.) and Jackie Meiklejohn (SO/Dickey, N.D.) each recorded a double-double. Lowman passed out 18 assists and recorded 13 digs while Meiklejohn added 17 assists and 14 digs.

Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) led the defense with 18 digs. Corina Ruud (JR/Breezy Point, Minn.) had eight total blocks. Knudson added five and Thomas four.

Both teams had 47 kills, but UJ committed just 14 attack errors to Mount Marty’s 25, and finished with a .237-.138 hitting advantage. The Jimmies also outdug the Lancers 72-60.

Jamestown plays at Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
