. Minor flooding continues to affect much of the James River basin
in North Dakota. Pipestem Creek near Pingree appears to have crested
and while falling, it will remain above flood stage well into the
weekend. Farther south, the James River at LaMoure is expected to
crest on Friday and remain above flood stage into the middle of next
week.

* At 1:15 PM Thursday the stage was 14.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

For the James River Basin including LaMoure...Moderate flooding is
forecast.

. The James River continues to rise in the LaMoure area. Water levels
will be near flood stage through Monday afternoon. However, rainfall
today and Monday will result in additional rises thereafter. The river
is forecast to rise above flood stage Monday evening and continue
rising through Wednesday. If the forecast rainfall amounts are realized,
the river may rise above moderate flood stage on Wednesday.
