Steve Reidburn adds, that Coca Cola has donated 25 cases, or 600 cans of the new Cherry Coke, Slim, a new product to giveaway, Halloween night at the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, basement location.
Jamestown (CSi) The 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse is hosting a Haunted House in the basement, on Halloween night, from 5-p.m., to 8-p.m.
The Site Manager Steven Reidburn on a recent Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 said, the event is geared for children in Pre-K, Kindergarten and early grade school ages.
The basement is being decorated, and there will be some adults dressed in costume to add to the fun. Candy will be handed out and hot chocolate will be available.
A suggest donation is $5 per person.
On another note, Steve said the Escape Room in the basement of the 1883 Stutsman Courthouse, continues to be well attended, adding that 50-percent of the participants are from outside Stutsman County. The Escape Room is available by appointment, Wednesday through Sunday, at 10-a.m., 1-p.m., and 3-p.m. He said last week, five rooms were being used. To arrange a day and time call 701-252-1170 and to arrange special evening participation. Also register on their Facebook page. The participation cost is $25 per person.
He added that plans are underway to have the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse become the only Citizenship Museum in the U.S., with various rooms set up for interactive participation, noting local and national historic events. It will feature displays, including old office equipment and other artifacts from the 1880’s to present day, being supplied by the State Historical Association along with donated items. The plan is to have it available to the public this coming spring, around Memorial Day.
With renovations, Steve pointed out the courtroom has recently been rewired, and new outdoor lighting has been installed at the main front entrance. He said one additional room will be added to the tours.
Donations are still being accepted to install an elevator, at a cost of around three quarters of million dollars.
He added that around 2200 people came to tour the 1883 Courthouse this past tourist season.
Winter tours are available by appointment.
