FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force has tracked down an inmate who walked away from a Fargo halfway house earlier this week.
Officials used tips and surveillance video to catch up with 30-year old Juan Martinez. KFGO reports he was believed to be holed up in a northside apartment in Fargo. The building was staked out for about 7 hours and when a friend showed up to give Martinez a ride Tuesday he was arrested.
He was serving a federal sentence for a 2015 conviction of a felon with a gun. He was due for release in February.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed five felony charges against a Fargo man accused of shooting at police in a hotel lobby.
Fifty-four-year-old Henry Aiken is jailed in Cass County on $500,000 bond. KFGO reports Aiken has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, terrorizing, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Officers were dispatched to the Radisson in downtown Fargo about 4 a.m. Friday on the report of a man with a gun. Officers arrived to find a man with a gun outside of the hotel entrance. He fired one shot at officers and additional shots at the Radisson before entering the lobby where he was quickly taken into custody.
A police sergeant was injured during the incident when he accidentally shot himself in the hand while taking cover.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information in the disappearance of an American Indian woman whose body was found in a submerged truck in a North Dakota lake.
Federal authorities went to New Town, North Dakota, on Wednesday to update family members of Olivia Lone Bear on the death investigation.
The 32-year-old Lone Bear was reported missing to the Three Affiliated Tribes Police Department on Oct. 27, 2017. Her body was found July 31, 2018, in the pickup truck pulled from Lake Sakakawea on the Fort Berthold Reservation.
An autopsy was conducted, and the cause of death was ruled undetermined. No obvious injuries to her body were found.
Minneapolis FBI Special Agent in Charge Jill Sanborn says Lone Bear’s family and her community want to know what happened to her, and so does the FBI.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Rep. Jim Jordan is disputing a claim by Ambassador Gordan Sondland that he added “two plus two” to conclude that the Trump administration was holding up a planned White House meeting with Ukraine’s new president for a political investigation of Democrats.
Sondland testified Wednesday that there was a “quid pro quo” with regard to the White House meeting and nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine.
But Jordan, one of President Donald Trump’s top defenders, said a meeting between Trump and Ukraine’s president eventually happened, the military was delivered, and no investigation was announced.
Jordan told Sondland, “It’s not two plus two. It’s 0 for three.’’
LONDON (AP) — Britain’s Prince Andrew says he is stepping back from public duties with the queen’s permission.
Andrew said it has become clear to him in recent days that his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has become a “major distraction” to the royal family’s work.
He said Wednesday he regrets his association with Epstein and that he “deeply sympathizes” with his victims.
ATLANTA (AP) — Four Democrats jumbled at the top of the party’s presidential primary are looking to begin separating themselves in the final debate before Thanksgiving begins sapping voters’ attention.
And that may mean sharpest criticism for the one with the most-recent rise, Pete Buttigieg.
The 37-year old mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has gained significant ground recently. But with top-tier status comes added scrutiny, as the other front-runners discovered in four previous debates throughout the summer and fall.
Former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Bernie Sanders of Vermont all faced attacks previously.
The pressure will be on Wednesday night in Atlanta for Buttigieg to demonstrate he can woo black voters and that running a city of only about 100,000 residents qualifies him to be president.
JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s challenger says he has failed to form a governing coalition by a Wednesday deadline.
Wednesday’s announcement by Benny Gantz deals a major setback to his hopes of replacing the long-serving Netanyahu and could set the stage for the country’s third election in under a year.
Gantz had been tapped by the country’s president to form a government after Netanyahu failed at the task last month. But like Netanyahu, Gantz was unable to muster the support of a majority in the 120-seat parliament.
He said he had informed Israel’s president, Reuven Rivlin, of his decision.
With his announcement, parliament has 21 days to rally behind Gantz, Netanyahu or a third dark-horse candidate. If that fails, the country would be forced to hold elections in March.
HONG KONG (AP) — Hong Kong schools have reopened after a six-day shutdown but students were facing transit disruptions as the last protesters remained holed up on a university campus.
City officials tried to restore a sense of normalcy as primary and secondary schools reopened Wednesday.
There were scattered incidents of protesters stopping trains and blocking traffic but on a much smaller scale than the past disruptions.
Some train stations remained shut, and city workers were inspecting damage to a main road tunnel that is closed after protesters torched the toll booths.
A small group of protesters won’t leave Hong Kong Polytechnic University because they would face arrest. They are holdouts from hundreds who took over the campus for days.
DETROIT (AP) — Fiat Chrysler says it will defend itself vigorously against a lawsuit alleging that it bribed union officials to get an unfair labor cost advantage over General Motors.
The Italian-American automaker called the lawsuit filed Wednesday by GM “meritless” and said it would pursue all legal remedies in response.
Fiat Chrysler says in a statement that it’s astonished by the lawsuit and it assumes the legal action was intended to disrupt its proposed merger with France’s PSA Peugeot and ongoing contract talks with the United Auto Workers.
