George Redman – Wednesday Dec 4, 2019

George Leroy Redman, 82, died on December 4, 2019 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND following an illness.

George was born in Donovan, Illinois on October 13, 1937 to Orie Lee and Mae Catherine (Meierle) Redman. George was the second of six children. He married Darlene Meier in 1955 following their graduation from Donovan High School. Together they had four children.

George was a printing press operator at Uarco Inc in Watseka, Illinois following graduation until 1972. He then moved to Colorado to take a printing position at the new Kodak Colorado Division in Windsor, Colorado. He retired in 1992.

George married Annette McGregor King in September of 1993. They resided in Fort Collins Colorado until relocating to their dream farmstead in Ypsilanti, North Dakota. They even moved their outdoor hot tub, where many evenings were spent with friends. In recent years they have supported each other through health issues. He supported Annette as she battled breast cancer. She supported him through his battle with COPD.

George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. George’s pride and joy was collecting EAGLES, glass, pewter, porcine, wood, wall hangings and crystal, any and all were welcomed to his collection! He enjoyed traveling to visit family. Fall weekends would find George, watching NDSU Bison football. But he was a forever Bronco fan, joking he bled blue/orange!

Grateful for sharing in George’s life are wife Annette, Ypsilanti; daughter Linda (Jim) Koch, Wimbledon, ND; son Vincent (Cora) Redman, Fowler, IN; daughter-in-law Marianne Redman, Kalkaska, MI; sisters Catherine (Jim) Aper and Dorothy Doran both of CO; brother Richard (Vicky), OK; four grandsons Joel, Chris, Michael and Kaleb; four great-granddaughters Keither, Cheyenne, Shiloh and Sage; three great-grandsons Skylar, Vincent and Michael, Jr.

George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Orie Redman, Jr. and Frank Redman, sons Joel Redman and Gregory Redman, grandson Ray Wallace Lint.

No local services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date in CO. A celebration of life will follow.
