Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Community Christmas Tree, is decorated, and is in a different location this year.

The live tree in front of the Jamestown City Fire Hall, was selected, to save the city costs of hauling a donated tree to the front of the Jamestown Civic Center, which has been the location the past few years.  The Jamestown City Fire Department decorated the tree, and a celebration was typically held for the tree lighting.

Last year, the tree tumbled over onto  the railings on the west side exterior of the Civic Center, causing expensive damages, and doubled the costs of replacing the tree, with a standby tree.

Prior to that location, for several years the large tree in front of what was then Jamestown Hospital was decorated each year, until, the front of the building was expanded and the tree was taken down in that space.

The community is invited to drive by the City Fire Hall, and see this year’s Jamestown Community Christmas Tree.

Also the Hansen Arts Park in Downtown Jamestown has decorated Christmas Trees and other areas of the park, courtesy of service clubs and others who have volunteered to put the location and the community in the Christmas spirit.
