Jamestown  (CSi) The Jamestown Salvation Army continues to appeal to volunteers to ring bells.

As of Monday, December 9, only 25% of the campaign goal had been raised.

The Christmas Campaign funds 40% of the overall operation of the Salvation Army.

All the money raised stays in the Jamestown Community and all of Stutsman County.

To Sign up to ring bells:

    • Enter Jamestown’s zip code – hit “Go”
    • Select a date and a location
    • Choose from the shifts that are open
    • Can register as an individual or as a group

There are six kettle locations in Jamestown, through thru Christmas Eve

  • Cash Wise Foods
    • Inside the Lobby (12-24 until 5:00 p.m.)
  • Jamestown Business Center
    • Inside by the Depot Café (12-24 until 6:00 p.m.)
  • Walmart
    • Middle “Home” Door Entrance (Kettle Outside) (12-24 until 8:00 p.m.)
    • Grocery Door Entrance (Kettle Outside) (12-24 until 6:00 p.m.)
    • Individuals that sign up to ring at Walmart will be put into a drawing for one of 13 Walmart gift cards
  • Buffalo Mall
    • Dunhams Sports Entrance Inside the Mall (12-24 until 4:00 p.m.)
    • Home of Economy Entrance Inside the Mall (12-24 until 4:00 p.m.)

General Kettle Campaign Information:

  • Ring Dates: November 18 – December 24 (except Wal-Mart which started November 29)
  • Days & Hours: Monday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Mall – Saturday’s are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Kettle and equipment will be there for you when you arrive (you may not be met by anyone).
  • When your shift is over, place the bell in the apron and tie apron to stand before you leave.
  • Walmart is the only outside location.  You may step in briefly to get warm but we ask that you only ring the bell outside.  We may not move the kettle inside.
  • We ask for at least a 2-hour commitment
  • Money donations can also be made in person or postal mailed to the Salvation Army located at 320 1st Ave North in Jamestown.
  • A new giving option at the kettles includes the ability to use Apple Pay and Google Pay, so people can use their mobile devices to donate. They can scan or “bump” the sign at each site with their cellphone which will then take them to a donation page with Apple or Google payment options. The funds will be distributed to the local Salvation Army based on the donor’s billing zip code and the donor will receive an email receipt on his or her phone.
  • Also new this year is the ability to sponsor a kettle. Individuals, families, groups, businesses or churches can choose to sponsor a kettle for a day or other specific time for a certain cost.
