Nancy Jean Odegaard, 69, a lifelong resident of Valley City, ND passed away at Vibra Hospital in Fargo, ND on December 29, 2019. A funeral service for her will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the service at the church. She will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
Nancy was born April 18, 1950 to Oscar and Helen (Gardner) Odegaard at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND. She grew up on the family farm south of Valley City. She attended rural schools including Brown School, Hastings and Kathryn Schools. Nancy graduated from Valley City High School in 1969.
Nancy worked for Mercy Hospital as a dietician aide until retiring in 1994. During her retirement, she worked part time providing home care services for many elderly friends.
She leaves behind her mother, Helen Odegaard; three brothers, Robin (Rosemary) of Peoria, AZ, Tom (Marilyn) of Valley City, and Jerry (Paula) of Moorhead, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Nancy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
