David Rude, 62, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 9, 2020 at his home.

David was born April 21, 1957, the son of Leonard and Frances (Smith) Rude. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1975 and enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a Navy Corpsman (medic) at the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point, North Carolina until 1979. David graduated from Minnesota State University in Moorhead, MN in 1983. He moved to Aberdeen, SD, where he was manager of OSCO Drug until 1987, and then moved to Phoenix, AZ to working in the IT profession. David returned to Jamestown in May 2001 to work at the North Dakota State Hospital as IT Systems Administrator in the Human Resources Dept. until retiring in 2019.

David is survived by his two sisters, Kathy Vandeberghe and Donna Fischer, both of Jamestown; nieces, Cheryl (Dave) Zimniak, Grand Forks, ND and Tina (Mike) Williason, Jamestown; nephews, Shaun (Deanna) Fischer, Jamestown, Mark (Becky) Vandeberghe, Gretna, NE, and Paul (Lori) Vandeberghe, Cleveland, ND; great nieces, Macy Fischer, Ashley Vandeberghe, Ambria Vandeberghe, Alyssa Vandeberghe, Alexis Vandeberghe, and Kelsey Vandeberghe; great nephews, Brayden Fischer and Michael Zimniak.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Tom Vandeberghe.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating.

Interment: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND, at a later date.
