Jamestown, ND ( Jun 14, 2013) — The Mrs. North Dakota Pageant is set for June 15 at 7:00pm, at the Jamestown Civic Center. On the Wayne Byers Show Friday, the State Director for the Mrs. North Dakota Pageant, and former Mrs. North Dakota, Mary Schwartzkopf, of Jamestown said, those competing will tour Jamestown, meet distinguished people in the community as well as getting involved in some activities in Jamestown.
That Friday, June 14th is Flag Day, and the ladies hope to be involved a little in some of the Flag Day events.
They will be competing in categories, including Personal Interview which is one on one; Swimwear which is portraying Confidence and Physical Fitness, as well as Evening Gown, portraying elegance and eloquence.
Mrs. Jamestown, Eliza Potratz, the current Pageant Ambassador, is a candidate for the title this year. She is also an avid volunteer to help the Veterans in Jamestown.
A special event this year is the Princess Pageant, for girls Ages 4 – 10 years old, on June 15, 2013, at 1:30 pm, and Mrs. North Dakota’s daughter will lead the event.
The deadline to register the girls is June 5, 2013. The registration fee is $25.
The girls will all receive a crown and a special surprise.
There will be a Peoples Choice Award given out.
They will also get to participate in the pageant evening event that day.
The Mrs. North Dakota local titleholders will model in a special fashion show during the Princess Pageant.
A portion of the pageant proceeds will support the anti domestic violence program Kettish House.
The Reigning Mrs. North Dakota is Amanda Brumfield. She is married to Tracy Brumfield and mother of 3 children, Sam, Noah and Anna, residing in Edgeley, North Dakota.
She represented North Dakota at the 2012 Mrs. America Pageant in Tucson, Arizona, August. 23rd – 29th.
Some of the activities and events around North Dakota, Amanda has participated in during her reign included:
- Speaking to the Women at the North Dakota Women’s Correctional, Rehab Center.
- Coffee with North Dakota First Lady – Betsy Dalrymple in Jamestown,
- Speaking to children in schools around the area.
- Balloon Sculpting.
- Riding in Parades including driving a Tractor.
- And her journey to becoming Mrs. America 2012 in Tucson, Az.
