Peggy Lu Williams was born December 7, 1926 on her parents’ farm at Streeter, ND.  She was the daughter of Hubert and Marie (Nelson) Williams.  She attended country school and later Streeter public school.Peggy moved to Jamestown in 1945 and worked at the Red Owl Store, Gladstone Hotel and the Vita Bakery.  On December 11, 1947 Peggy and Bruce Hoeckle were united in marriage at the First Church of the Nazarene in Jamestown.  They lived in the Pingree area, farming and raising their six children.  The Pingree/Buchanan School District honored Peggy and Bruce with an athletic award for having children participating in athletics for 30 years.  Bruce passed away June 14, 1992.  She retired from the Pingree Community Café in 2006, after 22 years of servicePeggy was a member of the Pingree Congregational Church for many years and a lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene where she was baptized with a full body immersion in Spiritwood Lake.  She loved her Lord, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed walking, reading, taking trips and was the queen of the scrabble board.  Peggy was known for her hugs, smiles, and she was a Grandmother to everyone.Peggy is survived by her six children: Charlotte (Mark) Knodel, Bowdon, ND, Byron (Glenda) Hoeckle, Binford, ND, Loren (Julie) Hoeckle, Sandra (Rod) Wilhelm all of Jamestown, ND, Donna Slais, Watford City, ND, Greg (Brenda) Hoeckle, Carrington, ND.  Survivors also include 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; parents; siblings, Boyd, Joyce, Udell, Glenn, Janice and Sharon; and a son-in-law, Randy Slais.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service:  6:30 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, ND.
