Carol Motz – Sunday April 12, 2020

Carol Motz, 70, Jamestown, ND died late Sunday evening April 12, 2020 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Carol Schauer was born January 20, 1950 at Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Walter Schauer and Leona (Knoll) Schauer. She received her elementary education in Lehr and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm. She graduated from the Lehr High School in 1968 and then attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND where she studied Nursing. She started working as an LPN at Mercy Hospital in Valley City in 1971.

She and Harry Motz were married April 7, 1972 at Valley City, ND.

They made their home in Valley City where she continued to work for Mercy Hospital until 1978 when they moved to Jamestown. She then worked for the ND State Hospital which she did for 36 years.

She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND.

Surviving are her husband Harry, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters Holly, Jamestown, ND; Brenda (Jason) Lupien, Sioux Falls, SD; 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Madison, Cole and Levi; 5 sisters and 2 brothers, Cindy (Keith) Ames, Brooklyn Center, Minn., Donna (Kenneth) Saylor, Houston, Texas, Noreen (Tim) Scholl, Rapid City, S.D., Melanie Schauer, New Rockford, N.D., and Sherie (Rex) Kappes, Cozad, Neb.; and two brothers, Jeff, Houston, Texas, and Barry (Chris), Columbia Heights, Minn; 1 brother-in-law Jon Pahl, Edgeley, N.D.,

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Stanley in 2010 and 1 sister Nancy in 2016

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial will take place in Woodbine Cemetery at Valley City, ND.

Arrangement are by the Haut Funeral Homes and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND.
