Zeno J. Heintz, 83, Jamestown, ND, died Tues April 14 at his home in Jamestown.
Zeno was born March 5, 1937 at the family farm home near Orrin, ND, the son of Anton and Frances (Mack) Heintz. He attended the local rural school near Sykeston where he received his elementary education. He later started driving truck for H&H Trucking and Clark Trucking. Zeno also served in the National Guard.
He and Darlene Sondag were married May 18, 1963 at Sykeston, ND. Zeno continued to drive truck and in 1970 as an owner/operator started driving thru Mayer Truck Line in Jamestown. He retired in the fall of 2013 and has continued to live in Jamestown. In 2000 Zeno was awarded the 3-million-mile safety award for outstanding performance as a professional driver.
Zeno was a member of the Basilica of St. James and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Darlene, Jamestown, ND; 5 children, Lori (Curtis) Graves, Jamestown, ND; Mark (Michele) Heintz, Apex, NC; Karen (Brad) Hillman, East Grand Forks, MN; Brian (Michelle) Heintz, Lakeville, MN; Wade (Jennifer) Heintz, Savage, MN; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 1 sister and 3 brothers, Betty Heintz, Eugene Heintz, Anton Heintz, and James Heintz.
Zeno was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Visitation – 1-5 Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Haut Funeral Home. The family appreciates your support at this time, please keep in mind that public gatherings are to be kept at a minimum (as per regulations set forth while dealing with Covid-19 nationwide)
Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Basilica of St. James at a later date
