Clifford Allen Holter was born May 26, 1934 in Kenmare, ND to Elmer and Ethel (Elige) Holter. He grew up in the Kenmare and Coteau, ND area. On November 25, 1958, he began his time in the US Army. Cliff served in Germany and was packed and ready to be shipped off to Korea when the call came that the war was over. He was honorably discharged March 31, 1963.
Cliff had many loves…dancing, Western movies (especially John Wayne), Bingo, gambling. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it be doing yard work, camping, fishing, or hunting. Above all else, Cliff loved his family. He loved them so much and was loved by so many that he was “dad” or “grandpa” to everyone.
Jo passed away April 5, 2019. Not too long after, Cliff moved in with his daughter, Anita and her family. It was there that he was able to spend his last days with his beloved family. He was able to hear them laugh and tell stories. He passed away May 13, 2020.
Lerud Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City is assisting Cliff’s family with arrangements. An online guestbook and tribute page can be found at www.lerudschuldt.com
