Posted by KCSi News in Obits on May 28, 2020 2:43 pm / no comments

Paul William Solt passed away in his home on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

Paul was born January 19, 1950 in Dubuque, IA and grew up in Aurora, IL where he attended high school. He enlisted in the Navy when he turned 18 and served aboard the USS Towers (DDG9) from 1968 to 1970 as a boiler man. He was very proud to be a Navy veteran. He was a life member of the VFW, serving as an officer at VFW Post 760 in Jamestown, ND.

Paul also enjoyed going to TRAC in Jamestown until COVID-19 came along. He was also very proud of the jean jacket he had gotten made with all sorts of patches sewed on. Patches of the Vietnam war, those of his rank in the Navy, one for his father who also served in the CCC, and others symbolizing being in the VFW in Iowa and North Dakota.

He was living in Cedar Rapids, IA and there he found his wife, Gloria. He moved to Jamestown, North Dakota in June of 2017, to be with her and they were married on July 13, 2018. Two of their TRAC Family were witnesses at their wedding.

Paul is survived by his wife, Gloria, one sister, Diana, two children; Paula and Billy, and several grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia Solt, and brother.
