Annetta Podoll, 88, died Mon June 8, 2020 at Eventide in Jamestown.
Annetta Mayer was born August 6, 1931 on the family farm home North of Gackle, ND, the daughter of Bernhardt Mayer and Christina (Zenker) Mayer. She received her elementary education in the Alfred and Gackle area.
She and Harold Podoll were married on March 23, 1947. They made their home on a farm two-half miles NW of Jud, ND where she helped out on the farm while Harold worked on construction. In 1965 the family moved into Alfred, she helped out driving bus, at the Alfred school, Gackle Hospital, Gackle Locker. She also drove truck for Everett’s Construction. In 1972 they moved to Jamestown. She then moved to Seattle, WA where she worked for Honeywell for 12 years, making her way up to supervisor.
After moving back to Jamestown, she worked for the North Dakota State Hospital for 10 years with the IVN system. Following the death of Harold August 25, 1992, she continued to reside in Jamestown, working for the Jamestown Sun and Service Master. She entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in 2015.
She was a life time member of the Alfred American Legion. Annetta was an extremely hard worker who lover her family very much.
Surviving are 1 son and 1 daughter, Dwight (Kathy) Podoll, Snohomish, WA; Connie (Neil) Suko, Jud, ND; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Linda and an infant son, 4 brothers, Elroy, Erwin, Edwin, William, 2 sisters, Elma and Nelda.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 16, 2020 at Haut Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.
Interment will be made in the Alfred City Cemetery, Alfred, North Dakota.
