Undated (KCSi-T.V. News) — The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a 24-year-old man was injured when his motorcycle ran off the road at 5:35 p.m. Sunday (Jun2, 2013) on Richland County Road 4 on the east edge of Abercrombie, N.D., according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The reports says, 24 year old Joshua Taylor Wold, of Abercrombie, was operating a 2013 Victory motorcycle eastbound on Richland County Road 4, passing Fort Abercrombie, when the road curved to the left. Wold failed to negotiate the curve and went off the road into the south ditch.
The motorcycle then hit a driveway approach and became airborne, landing on the Fort Abercrombie grounds and toppling to rest on its right side. Wold was thrown during the roll and came to rest near the motorcycle.
Abercrombie first responders and Breckenridge Ambulance responded to the scene, providing medical care, and Sanford Life Flight transported Wold to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
The motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed away.
Charges are pending.

MEDORA, N.D. (AP) – The state Board of Higher Education is scheduled to meet behind closed doors to discuss the contract of beleaguered University System Chancellor Hamid Shirvani.
The board plans to convene in executive session at 9 a.m. Monday in Medora, where the group is holding its annual retreat.
Bismarck attorney Jack McDonald, who represents the state’s new organizations, told The Forum Newspaper that the gathering could be a violation of the state’s open meetings laws.
University system spokesman Linda Donlin said Sunday that McDonald’s criticism is “unwarranted and premature” and the board will meet in private as planned.
Shirvani has been blasted by some students, faculty and lawmaker for his management style. He says he was given a mandate to overhaul the higher education system and fix problems, including low graduation rates
BISMARCK (AP) — State health officials are cautioning North Dakotans to guard themselves against ticks and hantavirus disease as the weather warms and they begin spending more time outdoors.

Hantavirus is a disease transmitted by infected mice. Epidemiologist Michelle Feist said people who are cleaning cabins or other buildings that have been closed up for the winter should protect themselves by properly ventilating the space being cleaned, wearing gloves and using disinfectant.

Barry Walton, operations manager for the city of Cavalier, says recent flooding has turned the northeastern part of the state into a high-risk area for mosquito breeding. He says the bugs will appear after a long warm, dry spell.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Department of Transportation is planning its largest road construction program in state history, prompted in part by the strain caused by increased traffic related to the oil boom.
