Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jun 21, 2013) — Update…A prisoner who escaped from the Barnes County jail, on Thursday afternoon (Jun 20, 2013 has been found and taken into custody.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says Kidd Jr. was taken into custody on Friday June 21, 2013 at 7:45 p.m.
Matthew Hayes Kidd, Jr., was spotted at a farmstead at 4:00 p.m. fleeing on foot.
He was found in a shelter belt two miles north and one mile east of Fingal, spotted by an individual passing by that area.
McClaflin adds, Kidd Jr. was taken into custody without incident.
Kidd Jr. is in jail on a domestic assault charge.
Assisting the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension were the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the male subject, 26 year old Matthew Hayes Kidd, Jr, is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighs 180 pounds.
He has brown hair and blue eyes with a scruffy beard.
He was last seen wearing orange jail pants, and he has ties to the Valley City, Devils Lake area.
Authorities say he is not a danger to the public, however residents are asked to keep their doors and windows locked, to eliminate access to buildings.
