James H. Olson – Dec 12, 2020

James H. Olson, 88, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday December 12, 2020 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Fargo.

Jim was born March 28, 1932 at the family farm home, the son of Henry and Pearl (Vibe) Olson. He grew up on the farm 8 miles south of Streeter where he received his elementary education.

He entered the US Air Force December 1950 at Fargo, ND. He served in Korea in Search and Rescue. Jim was discharged December 4, 1954 at Yuma, AZ with the rank of Airman First Class.

Jim and Elaine Williams were married at Yuma, AZ on December 24, 1954. After the service he worked as a foreman for a west coast contractor for 10 years. In 1962 they moved to ND and bought the family farm from his parents. In 2010 they moved into Jamestown.

He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, the VFW in Jamestown and served on the Streeter School Board.

Jim is survived by his wife, Elaine, Jamestown, ND; 3 children, Brenda (Keith) Hahn, LaMoure, ND; Mark (Lisa) Olson, Dickey, ND; Kevin (Yvonne) Olson, Jamestown, ND; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, several great great grandchild and 1 brother, Donald Olson, Kearney, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Laurie, and 3 brothers, Robert, Franklin and Kenneth.

Visitation – 3:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown

Graveside Services – 11:00 AM Friday December 18, 2020 at the ND Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

Arrangements – Haut Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Jamestown, ND.
