News Jun 21, 2013)  — Holly Miller, Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation Marketing/Workforce Developer, attended the FAST Facilitation course at the IDEA Center in Bismarck.  The FAST Professional Facilitation (Session Leader) Workshop course prepares team and project leaders, analysts, managers, and executives to make the most of critical projects and decisions.

The course was intensive, well-rounded, and targeted for today’s fast paced, process-driven business change environments. This FAST course allows session leaders to acquire facilitation skills proven to dramatically increase productivity of workshops, of meetings, any group setting, and within teams.

Facilitation skills are essential to work within the three constraints of time, cost, and scope. Projects require and benefit from group activities to plan, decide, analyze, and extract high-quality information in a compressed time and JSDC approach projects through a team often. The structured facilitation technique taught Holly how to assist individuals and teams to develop clear deliverables, superior problem-solving skills, and consensus-based decisions.  Holly stated, “This type of learning allows me to apply the techniques to the JSDC marketing committee, training/education committee, marketing/recruitment committee, and meetings within the JSDC office.  I can also apply these skills to the development of the several workforce projects I am establishing, especially utilizing the “deliverable” method that was drilled into each session at FAST Facilitation.”
