Georgialea Rufsvold – Jan 16, 2021

Georgialea Inez Rufsvold, 86, passed away January 16, 2021 in her home in Jamestown.

Georgie was born in Jamestown, ND Feburary 21, 1934. Her parents were Andrew and Lettie (Eastman) Jacobson. In 1940 she moved to LaMoure where she lived for 10 years. She then moved to Fort Ransom, ND where she graduated from high school and married Kenneth Rufsvold on October 19, 1952. The couple lived their entire married life in Fort Ransom where they farmed and raised their seven children. Kenneth passed away on January 1, 2014.

In May 2017, Georgie moved to Jamestown to be closer to more of her family. Georgie enjoyed many years of involvement with the Sheyenne Valley Arts & Crafts Assoc. She was always involved with her church in Fort Ransom. She read her bible every day. Besides reading, she enjoyed baking, volunteering and was very active in her community. She was creative and dabbled in various art mediums. She hosted many memorable family gatherings and truly treasured her entire family.

Georgie is survived by her children Christine (Scott) Saar, Jamestown, ND, Craig (Gail) Rufsvold, Jamestown, ND, Jerry Rufsvold, Milnor, ND, Ryan (Janelle) Rufsvold, Jamestown, ND, Katherine (Mark) McMahon, Jamestown, ND, Jon (Stephanie) Rufsvold, Milnor; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Rufsvold, Lisbon, ND; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Georgie was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, son Randy, granddaughter Jill Rufsvold and great grandson Randy.

No public service will be held.

Memorials to be sent to Standing Rock Lutheran Church, Fort Ransom, ND

Eddy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
