Gerald “Butch” Gordon Berreth
Gerald “Butch” Berreth passed away on January 21, 2021 at the age of 76 at Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.
Gerald Berreth was born on November 18, 1944 to Herman and Rhoda (Johnson) Berreth near Linton, ND. His family moved to Dawson, ND where he attended school. As an adult, Butch moved to Jamestown where his two children, Toby and Trina, were born. He worked road construction, at Farmers Union service station, and was later self-employed.
Butch will be remembered for his love of music. He played drums in multiple bands including Butch’s Band and the Castaways. He was a member of the Jamestown Drum and Bugle Corp. He like gospel music and recorded an album of his favorites. He enjoyed singing karaoke and was a big fan of Elvis Presley.
In recent months Butch moved into Eventide Nursing Home in Jamestown because of declining health. Butch was summoned home to his Heavenly Savior on January 21, 2021. He will be missed by many.
Butch is survived by his son, Toby (Tina) Berreth of Jamestown, ND; daughter, Trina (Brian) Colegrove of Ducor, CA; brother, Kenny (Lucy) Berreth of Bismarck, ND; grandson, Cody Berreth of Jamestown, ND; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Rhoda Berreth, and his sister Edith Hojian.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Jake DeBoer officiating.
