Indianapolis, Ind.  (UJ)  — The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team played its first match of the spring Monday night, losing 4-2 to Indiana University East.

Jamestown, 9-6 this season, will play at No. 3 Marian (Ind.) University Wednesday at 12 p.m. Central.

The Red Wolves (6-2) built a 3-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Kimberly Trapp (8th minute) and a pair by Priscilla Carvajal (30th minute, 31st minute).

Kamryn Fiscus cut the deficit to 3-1 when she scored in the 43rd minute for the Jimmies.

Karlie Hintze‘s header in the 61st minute brought the Jimmies within a goal, but IUE put the game away in the 85th minute on Abbie Watson’s goal.

Shots were 15-8 in favor of Jamestown, with the Red Wolves holding a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.

Alex Nowka had two saves for the Jimmies.
