Monday – Park University Spring Classic @ Kansas City UJ Men

PARKVILLE, Mo  (UJ) .– Tate Olson (JR/Cook, Minn.) shot an 11-over 81 to help the University of Jamestown men’s golf team to third place after the first day of the Park University Spring Classic, hosted by Park University at The Deuce at the National Golf Club of Kansas.

Olson is tied for sixth after the first round while Hudson Roling (JR/Thermopolis, Wyo.) and Treyton Forsman (JR/Lewiston, Idaho) both shot 13-over 83 to tie for ninth.

Jackson Worner (SO/West Fargo, N.D.) is tied for 12th after a 14-over 84 and Benjamin Schaefer (FR/New Rockford, N.D.) is tied for 24th at 18-over 88.

Carter Wells (SO/Huron, S.D.), playing as an individual, is also tied for 24th at 18-over 88.

Jamestown shot a team score of 331, just five shots back of leader Park University and one shot behind Metropolitan Community College.

Lewis Hopkinson of Park is the individual leader at 6-over 76, with teammate Matt Percy in second at 9-over 79.

Round two concludes on Tuesday.

UJ Women

TPC Deere Run–Silvis, IL

SILVIS, Ill.  (UJ) — The University of Jamestown women’s golf team is tied for sixth after the first round of the TPC Deere Run Invitational, hosted by William Penn University.

UJ’s first round score of 392 is tied with Grand View (Iowa) University. William Penn leads the 13-team field with a 341, followed by Davenport University at 356 and Bellevue University at 358.

Paige Argent (SR/Minot, N.D.) carded the top score for the Jimmies on Monday, finishing with a 17-over 89, tied with three others for 12th.

Izzy Marchino (JR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) is tied for 26th at 24-over 96, Teagan Fee (SO/Havre, Mont.) and Jayme Carlson (SO/Hartford, S.D.) are tied for 41st at 31-over 103, and Olivia Wallace (JR/Park Rapids, Minn.) is tied for 44th at 32-over 104.

Hannah Meloche of Davenport, Alexis Guimaraes of William Penn, and Dominika Gradecka of Bellevue are tied for first in the 73-player field, all at 11-over 83.

The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
