Update

Jamestown,  (CSi)  The Jamestown Rural Fire Department with mutual aid from the Pingree Fire Department were called to battle a grass/pature fire, that was consuming 80 acres of grasslands at Arrowwood  National Wildlife Refuge Management near Jamestown Tuesday afternoon.  The call came in at 1:56-p.m.

Rural Fire Chief, Brian Paulson says, four rural fire units and nine firefighters were on scene to fight the fire for about two and a half hours, assisted by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

The grass fire was accidentally started by a researcher.

No injuries were reported.

No wildlife was lost to his knowledge.
