Doris J. Greenstein “Muggy”, 88, Jamestown, ND passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Doris Madche was born February 16, 1933 in LaMoure County, ND to Jake and Olga (Nitschke) Madche. She attended school in Alfred, ND and for a short time in Gackle, ND.
Doris and Glenn were married June 29, 1952 in Rolla, MO. They made their home in Jamestown, ND. Doris worked at the Jamestown Sun and Walmart. She retired and enjoyed playing bingo. She crocheted all of her children and grandchildren afghans. Doris was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxilary.
She is survived by her husband Glenn, Jamestown; one brother Harry and DeLight Madche, Bremerton, WA; four children Gordon (Linda), Bismarck, ND, Jon, Jamestown, ND, Barry, Jamestown, ND, Lesley (Randy) Tarno, Jamestown, ND; eight grandchildren Danielle and Erin, Jeremy, Cori, Jake, Jesse, Dillon and Aaron; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, sister Anna Podoll, one daughter Julie and son-in-law Craig Norheim.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Lucas Holsten officiating. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery.
