Frieda Veil – Tuesday October 19, 2021

Frieda Veil, 102, Jamestown, ND formerly of the Streeter, ND community died early Tuesday morning October 19, 2021 at Ave Maria in Jamestown, ND.

Frieda Kubler was born September 25, 1919 on the family farm the daughter of David Kubler and Katherina (Seher) Kubler. She attended the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Adolph Veil were married April 18, 1938 at the family farm of her parents. The made their home on a farm southeast of Streeter, ND for eight years. In 1946 they moved into Streeter. From 1946-1975 they owned and operated Veils Service Station in Streeter. Frieda worked at the Fairway Grocery Store in Streeter for 24 years before retiring. Following the death of her husband on March 27, 1986 she has continued to reside in Streeter. She entered Ave Maria in January of 2019.

She was a life time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Streeter, active in church activities and lady’s group. She also loved working the Buffalo Supper. She was known as a great cook and it seemed that whenever company came to see her, in no time she would whip up a wonderful meal. She was fun loving and enjoyed an occasional root beer float or apricot slush but said they made her cheeks red!!! She really enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the casino as well as dancing the polkas and waltz’s

Surviving are four sons, Lloyd Veil, Streeter, ND; Randy (Karren) Excelsior, MN; Jerome Veil, Jamestown, ND; Jeffrey (Lavon) Veil, Jamestown, ND; son-in-law, Donald Buckmiller, Rugby, ND;11 grandchildren, Shelly Staggs, Brent Veil, Kip Veil, Jodi Wright, Jillain Veil-Ehnert, Jacquelyn Davis, Melissa Burkhard, Kurt Buckmiller, Todd Buckmiller, Nicholas Veil and Jamison Veil 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Cordell, one daughter Irene, 1 great granddaughter, Dawn Marie, two daughters-in-law’s, Arlene and JoDell, 5 sisters, Bertha, Otilla, Paulina, Martha, Lizzie, 3 brothers, Walter, David, Jr. and Art.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Saturday October 23, 2021 in St Luke Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND with Rev. Nathan Wicks, officiating.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be made in the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Streeter, ND.

Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Jamestown, ND.
