Jamestown  (CSi)  The James River Humane Society in Jamestown is collecting items for the shelter’s animals in cooperation with two local car dealerships, through November.

Those include R.M. Stoudt, and Don Wilhelm.

On Friday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 Humane Society, Vice President, Jay Nitschke said, items are being accepted to stuff the trucks, including cleaning supplies, food, treats, blankets, towels, toys and other items.

She pointed out that the jamesriverhumanesociety.org website has undergone new more user friendly improvements.  Users can fill out pet adoption applications, and indicate support through volunteering, plus updated photos and descriptions  of animals available for adoption, which will be updated more frequently.

Coming up in March 2022, another homemade kuchen sale will be happening to raise funds for the shelter, with more information coming.

Jay added that improvements to the shelter continues, with new lighting, and plexiglass installed at the dog kennels.

She said several dogs and cats are available for adoption.

The shelter in closed to walk ins for COVID-19 precautions, however, appointments can still be made to visit by calling 701-252-0747.
