Fargo (CSi) Delvin “Del” F. Owen, Lt. Jr. Grade Test Pilot and World War II Veteran, turns 98 on November 11, 2021. Fargo Air Museum will be giving a Birthday shout out during the Veteran’s Day Program.
Owen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1943. He completed basic training in Pensacola, Florida and was assigned to the Naval Base in Kaneohe, Hawaii, where he was a test pilot. He was discharged in December 1945 at the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. His proudest moment was getting his “wings,” learning to navigate, and learning Morse Code.
The Veteran’s Day service is free admission with no registration required. Veterans Resources will be available.
