Update…  Jamestown (CSi)  The Jamestown Rescue Squad was called to the scene of a rollover crash in Jamestown at 3:03 -p.m., on Thursday, at the intersection of First Avenue North and 4th Street Northeast, where a van and pickup crashed causing the van to rollover onto its side on First Avenue.

Jamestown Fire Department Lt. Sheldon Mohr said when the rescue unit arrived the occupants of the van had gotten out of the overturned van.

He said eight rescue squad personnel were on scene about eight minutes, while 12 were at the fire station on stand-by, but were not needed. on scene.

Jamestown Police assisted at the scene, along with Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.

Police say several individuals were transported by ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Surveillance camera footage shows a pickup entering the intersection  attempting to cross 1st Avenue North,  from 4th Street, striking the van on it’s passenger side, causing it to tip on it’s drivers side.   The intersection previously had  stoplights, but they were removed in the “Road Diet” project and changed to stop signs on 4th St and free flow on 1st Avenue.

In a statement Jamestown Police said:

It was a great effort by all involved.”
