Jamestown (JSDC) At the December Regular JSDC Board Meeting, he Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. Board unanimously approved allocating $45,000 from the 2021 budget surplus to provide for an upgrade to the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system and improvements to the audio and visual of two meeting rooms in the Center for Economic Development.
On Tuesday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, JSDC Business Development Director, Corry Shevlin said with audio visual improvement the $24,000 bid from Premier Audio form from Bismarck is shared 82 percent JSDC, and 18 percent as the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce share, co-located with JSDC.
Premier Audio from Bismarck bid more than $24,000 for the audio and visual improvements. The JSDC’s share of the cost is 82% at over $20,000 plus tax, and the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce’s share is 18% at about $4,400 plus tax.
Improvements in Audio visual include, at the lower level conference room the installation of microphones and speaker, and. installing sound panels to deaden noise in the room
Corry pointed out that the improvements will also allow more effective virtual presentation via Zoom or Microsoft Teams for video meetings. At the upper-level conference room improvements include a 65-inch LED TV, an all-in-one conferencing camera and a computer.
Upgrading the economizer controls for the HVAC system upgrade include over than $10,400, for the economizer controls, for the efficiency for the air-handling units, to reduce air conditioning run times.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors will consider approval of the projects at this month’s board meeting. The Jamestown City Council and Stutsman County Commission will also look at the projects approvals.
The JSDC Board unanimously approved Jen Dockter, from BlueFrog Realty & Property Management, as a new member on the board member
Lorrie Pavlicek, Curtis “CJ” Janke and Ritchie Wolf are the outgoing board members.
JSDC Board, Chairperson Marlee Siewert said the board accepted JSDC CEO Connie Ova’s resignation date of May 13, 2022, saying a search committee will be formed to find Ova’s successor.
