Wanda Mogck, 95, of Jamestown, North Dakota died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Eventide at Hi Acres in Jamestown.

Wanda was born on the farm of John and Rose (Domine) Kraft in Dickey County on July 6, 1926. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oakes, North Dakota. Wanda attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse (Norway #2) for eight years, and then graduated from Oakes Public High School in 1944. She entered the Cadet Nurse Corp. program in June of 1944 at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, and graduated in 1947.

Wanda married ElRoy Mogck at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oakes on September 10, 1947. She worked for a short time at Trinity Hospital after graduation and then went to the Professional Building (Clinic) for 12 years. Before retiring in 1988, she was employed at the North Dakota State Hospital for 16 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jamestown, active in the Trinity Hospital ND State Nurses Association, Wesley Circle and Dakota Heritage Club, several bridge clubs and a whist club. Wanda enjoyed reading, playing cards, working in the yard, crafts, and all kinds of fancy work.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter-in-law, Correen Mogck, and sister-in-law, Doris Kraft.

Wanda is survived by one son and two daughters: Cheryll (Dennis) Bivens, Crookston, MN; Richard Mogck, Jamestown; and Barbara (Kevin) Heyer, Walker, MN; four grandchildren: Kristi Bivens, St. Joseph , MN; Kelly (Alfredo) Lopez, Round Rock, TX; Paul Bivens, Tainen, Taiwan; Toby Nihgaat, Fargo, ND; one great-granddaughter, Leigha Lopez, Round Rock, TX; one brother, Arvid Kraft, TriCities, WA and two nephews: Mark Kraft, Pasco, WA; Greg Kraft, Marysville, WA; and a niece, Cathy Otto, Jamestown, ND.

A funeral service will be held in spring 2022.
