Gov. Doug Burgum has announced construction of a $1.9 billion dollar data center located near Williston. Burgum hailed the facility to be built by Missoula, Montana based FX Solutions Inc. as one of the biggest such centers in the world. Burgum says it will help diversify the economy in the region that has suffered oil boom-bust cycles for decades. Uses for data centers include the mining of bitcoin and other digital currencies. Officials say the project is scheduled for completion in two years and would will create more than 30 permanent jobs.
