(JPD) – On January 27, 2022, the Jamestown Police Department received a report from a victim that someone from Jamestown was using their personal identifying information to fraudulently purchase various types of household goods and other property. The value of all fraudulent purchases exceeded over $30,000. The victim does not live in the immediate area but had already inquired into the unauthorized charges and believed the suspects may be acquaintances.

An investigation into the complaint determined that fraudulent charges were made in both Jamestown and Bismarck. After other information was learned during the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for a residence in Jamestown.

On January 29, 2022, a search warrant was completed at 509 3 Ave SW in Jamestown. During the search, numerous items and property that were fraudulently purchased with the victim’s personal identifying information were found and seized.

The suspects in this incident were identified as 34-year-old Dorothy Ray Rush and 36-year-old Loring Riel Sky Rush, both of Jamestown. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of Unauthorized Use of Personal Identifying Information (B felony). Dorothy Rush was also arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant. Both suspects were transported to Stutsman County Correctional Center, where they await formal charges.

The incident remains under investigation and other charges are possible in this incident.
