Ongoing flooding as a result of the last two weeks of precipitation
has primed soils for further flooding. Widespread rainfall is
expected to begin Friday morning and overspread the area Friday
afternoon. While rain rates are not anticipated to be as high as
last weekends event, prolonged moderate rainfall could cause
flooding issues in regions that are saturated.

City Administrator Gwen Crawford said dike walker volunteers are needed starting this Saturday or Sunday.  Call the Flood Hot Line to volunteer at 701-890-7848, and for any questions and to get the facts on what is happening with the flood fight.

The city has staged a few more pumps at locations around the city, to be ready if needed.

Fire Chief Scott Magnuson said a water rescue drill was held last night.

He added that the rest of the flood walls are going up.

Residents are reminded not to get on all the dikes, which presents a dangerous situation, including the clay dikes becoming extremely slippery when wet, with additional rainfall.  There is a $500 fine for anyone in violation.
