Valley City  (CSi)Valley City Administrator Gwen Crawford said recently started the flood clean up including taking down the flood walls will take  a few weeks to complete.

The Sheyenne River in Valley City is currently holding steady after cresting  at 18.09 feet on Sunday, May 1. The river on Thursday was holding steady at slightly below 14 feet. Baldhill dam resource manager Rich Schueneman said the pool level of Lake Ashtabula is above 1268 feet and rising.

Some Valley Commissioners have praised volunteers, and city employees for their roles in the flood fight.

City Commissioner Mike Bishop thanked all the volunteers who helped in this flood fight.

City Commissioner Dewey Magnuson said we have a great bunch of city employees who worked long hours during the flood.
